General Manager
Amber Hoover

I was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming and it was there that I began my journey with McDonald's almost 11 years ago. Starting as a closing crew member, it wasn’t long before I was able to move up through the ranks. From crew member to department manager, every step was an exciting new opportunity that came with new experiences and new things to learn. I became a general manager in 2014 and couldn’t have been more excited. I stayed in that position for 2 years before the pull of family called to me. As much as I loved what I was doing with my career I felt like my place at that time was at home with my family being more involved in my children’s every day lives. I decided to leave McDonald's to be a stay at home mom. After being home for a couple of years I felt ready to return to the workforce. It turned out that my timing couldn’t have been better as the organization I had worked for had just purchased a new patch of stores and the general manager position I had vacated years before was open once again. So I returned to my home store and jumped right back into the swing of things. After being back with the company for a little over a year I was offered a supervisor position that I happily accepted. I spent the next 2 years overseeing 4 stores, learning a ton of new skills, and really being able to put my people practices into play.

There came a time when I felt like the time had come to break free of my hometown and start a new adventure. My husband was, as always, on my side and so we made the decision to relocate our family and started looking into different options to make that happen. Thanks to a good friend of mine, our path led us to Sioux Falls and that is where I found Hart2Hart. I have experienced such an outpouring of support since joining this team and I could not be more excited to see where my Mcjourney takes me next.

My favorite thing about working for McDonald's is the fast pace, ever changing nature, and the ability to build relationships within the restaurant. My highest passion and greatest joy in life is my family. My husband and I have been together for 11 years and are raising 7 children together. There is never a dull moment in our house and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We love to spend time outdoors when weather permits. We generally enjoy anything that keeps us busy and allows us to build those lasting family memories.

With a full time job and a family of 9, it goes without saying that I stay super busy all the time. In the moments that I get some downtime you can find me curled up with a good book and a cup of coffee. The simple moments in life are sometimes the best.
